Landscape suitability assessment in spatial development

Landscape suitability assessments ensures that the new plans fit into the green and rural environment. It is important that your buildings and plot fit in with their environment. If you own more ground, this must also be included in the plan. When drawing up a plan, it is essential to consider municipal policy regulations, typical characteristics of local landscape elements and the urban structures in the landscape. Mount Consultancy will work with you to design a plan that matches your wishes and fits within the policy framework.

Landscape suitability requirements

All municipalities have defined their conditions for landscape suitability in their policy documents. These conditions are always linked to local environmental impact, and make use of a three-level model. This means that for small projects with low impact, you need only to provide a site planting plan. For slightly larger projects, a full landscape suitability assessment has to be drawn up, and for larger projects, you also need to prove that your plan improves the quality of the landscape.
